All foreigners working as an accountant in Saudi Arabia will be needed to finish their registration in the near future. The plan is to restrict individuals with fake certificates or certified classes. The project is in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and the Organization of Public Accounts.
Those in the Engineering and Technician sector will not be able to renew their current residency status without registration.
It will also be implemented in the accounting sectr. The objective is to detain those who do not have genuine certificates, work skills and accredited courses.
The project is under the Labor Ministry. The project is in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Certified Public Accounts Organization (SOCPA).

The project also aims at future accounting and auditing reforms. There are over 10,000 accounting posts in the nation, according to informal statistics. About half of these are foreigners.
